This section summarizes key provisions of the full Privacy Policy, which starts under the "General" heading below. If this summary and the full Policy conflict, the full Policy controls.
What information we collect. We collect information about you when you use the StayFi services, including registration details, contact details such as your email address and mobile phone number, and your service preferences. We also collect information automatically about the device you use to access the Services.
How we use this information. We use it to operate, secure and improve our Services, to personalize content, and, where you have agreed, to send you communications.
Who we share your information with. We may share your information with the vacation rental management company where you are staying and with service providers that work on our behalf. We do not share, sell, rent or transfer your mobile phone number or text messaging opt-in data and consent to any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes. See Section 3.
Your choices. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in the email, and stop text messages at any time by replying STOP.
StayFi, Inc. ("StayFi", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our guest WiFi login pages, websites, mobile applications and related services (the "Services"), and how we use and disclose it.
Contents:
This Privacy Policy covers information collected through the Services. When you visit third-party websites, including our partners' websites, their privacy policies apply. If you live outside the United States, your information will be held and processed in the United States.
Personal Information you provide. When you use the Services, you may be asked to provide information that identifies you or can be used to contact you, such as your name, email address, mobile phone number, mailing or billing address, email and text messaging preferences, and account password ("Personal Information"). We may collect Personal Information when you log in to a guest WiFi network, register, request information, submit comments, take part in a promotion or survey, or otherwise contact us. You may also choose to give us contact details for friends you want us to contact; we use these only to send the message you request. We may also ask for optional information such as demographic details or your preferences and interests.
Information collected automatically. When you use the Services, we and our service providers may automatically collect information about how the Services are accessed and used ("Usage Information"), such as browser type, operating system, pages viewed, time of access, and the type of content or application used. Usage Information is generally non-identifying, but if we associate it with you, we treat it as Personal Information. We also collect network traffic information, including information sent to or received from the websites you visit. We use network traffic information only to administer the Services, such as to maintain and secure our network and help you with Service-related questions, or as required by law.
Device identifiers. We automatically collect your IP address, MAC address or other unique identifier ("Device Identifier") for the device you use to access the Services. We may use this information to determine the approximate physical location of your device, to improve the Services, and we may associate it with your Personal Information.
Cookies and web beacons. We may use cookies, web beacons (also called pixel tags or clear GIFs) and similar technologies in our pages, emails and ads to understand how you interact with them, such as whether an email was opened.
We use the information we collect to provide the Services, respond to your requests, manage and secure our network, improve the Services, tailor content, offers and advertisements, and for any other purpose disclosed when you provide the information or with your consent.
Email. We may send your email address to the vacation rental management company where you are staying so it can send you newsletters or promotional emails. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
Text messages. We send text messages only if you have checked the text messaging consent box on the WiFi login page or otherwise expressly agreed to receive them. Using the WiFi does not, by itself, sign you up for text messages. See Section 3.
StayFinder. If the vacation rental management company for the property where you are staying participates in StayFinder (a product of StayFi, Inc.), you may receive marketing emails directly from StayFinder about vacation rental properties or travel services. You can opt out of StayFinder emails at any time, separately from your preferences with the vacation rental management company.
Opting in. You will receive text messages only if you agree to them by checking the text messaging consent box on the WiFi login page. The consent box names the vacation rental management company that will send you messages, which may include stay-related and customer support messages and, if you separately agree, promotional messages. That company is the sender of these messages; StayFi provides the platform it uses to send them. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of using the WiFi or making a purchase.
Frequency and cost. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Opting out and help. You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. You will receive one confirmation message and no further messages unless you opt in again. For help, reply HELP or contact us at support@stayfi.com.
How we protect your mobile information. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We share mobile phone numbers only with service providers that help us deliver text messages, such as our messaging provider, and only for that purpose.
This section controls. If any other part of this Privacy Policy appears to allow sharing of mobile phone numbers or text messaging opt-in data, this Section 3 controls.
Mobile information is excluded. Everything in this Section 4 excludes mobile phone numbers and text messaging opt-in data and consent. That information is handled only as described in Section 3 and is never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Except as described in this Privacy Policy, we do not trade, rent or share your Personal Information with third parties unless you ask or authorize us to. We may share non-personal information, such as aggregate statistics and Usage Information, with third parties. We may also share information in these circumstances:
Vacation rental management companies. To provide the Services and carry out your requests, we may share your name, email address, Device Identifier and Usage Information with the vacation rental management company through which you accessed the Services. That company may send you marketing emails, and you can unsubscribe at any time. If you checked the text messaging consent box, that company may also send you text messages as described in Section 3.
Advertising partners. We work with partners that help us deliver more relevant advertising, analytics, attribution and reporting. We may share your name, postal address, email address or device ID with them, but never your mobile phone number or text messaging opt-in data. Our partners may place or recognize cookies on your browser or device, or in our emails, and may use this information to recognize you across channels over time. To learn more about interest-based advertising and to opt out, visit http://www.aboutads.info/choices. To opt out of the use of your mobile device ID for targeted advertising, visit http://www.aboutads.info/appchoices.
Service providers. We share information with companies that perform functions for us, such as hosting and operating the Services, analyzing data, delivering emails and text messages, providing customer service and processing payments. They may use the information only to perform those functions for us.
With your consent. If you choose to opt in to receive information from another company, we will share the information you agreed to share with that company, and its privacy policy will apply. This never includes your text messaging opt-in data or consent.
Business transfers. If StayFi or its relevant assets are acquired by or merged with another company, or in a bankruptcy or reorganization, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. The acquiring company will be required to handle it consistently with this Privacy Policy, including Section 3.
Law enforcement and legal requirements. We may disclose your information, including your communications through the Services, if required by law or by a valid request from law enforcement or a government authority, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is needed to (a) comply with laws, subpoenas or warrants, or (b) protect the rights, property or safety of StayFi, you, other users or others.
We may receive information about you from third parties. For example, if you opt in on another website to receive information from StayFi, that website may send us your email address and other details so we can contact you as requested. If you use a third-party application or feature, such as signing in with a social media account, you may allow us to collect information about you from that service. We may combine information from third parties with information we collect through the Services to improve the Services and tailor content and offers. We apply this Privacy Policy to any Personal Information we receive this way, unless we tell you otherwise.
By using the Services, you agree to the processing of your Personal Information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you live outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries whose privacy laws may be less protective than those where you live. In some circumstances, courts, law enforcement or regulators in those countries may be able to access your information.
Email. You can opt out of promotional emails from us or a partner by following the unsubscribe instructions in the email. We or the vacation rental management company may still send you administrative emails about the Services, such as confirmations and notices of changes to our terms or this Privacy Policy.
Text messages. You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP. See Section 3.
Access and deletion. To ask about, correct or delete the Personal Information we hold about you, contact us at the address in Section 12. If withdrawing your consent would prevent us from providing the Services, we may need to end your use of the Services.
StayFi licenses technology to manage internet access on behalf of vacation rental management companies. We or our partners may use third-party analytics providers to understand how the Services and our content are used. We and our advertising partners may show you ads for products and services based on your use of the Services and other websites.
If you prefer not to receive targeted advertising, you can opt out through the link in any marketing message from us or a partner, or at http://www.aboutads.info/choices.
Links to other websites are provided for your convenience and do not mean we endorse those sites. We do not control and are not responsible for other websites or their content. They may set their own cookies, collect data or request Personal Information, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to them.
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect Personal Information from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. No internet or wireless transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of information you send to us.
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from them. If we learn that we have collected Personal Information from a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
If you have questions, concerns or requests about this Privacy Policy, contact us at support@stayfi.com.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when we post the revised Privacy Policy, and we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. We will post a prominent notice of any significant changes. We will use your Personal Information consistently with the Privacy Policy in effect when we collected it, unless you consent to the new terms.
If you are a California resident, you may have the right under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) to request access to and deletion of your personal information, to correct it, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact us at the address in Section 12.
